General Pest Control Terms in Minnesota

Last Updated: 10/26/2026

What General Pest Control Covers

Last updated: October 2026

General Pest Control services are limited to the pests, treatment areas, and steps described in your written estimate or service agreement. Depending on that agreement, work may include inspection, treatment of listed common household pests, and practical recommendations to reduce pest activity.

We will explain when a pest, property condition, or requested task falls outside the agreed scope. Specialized work, such as termite treatment, wildlife removal, structural repairs, extensive cleanup, or treatment for pests not listed in your agreement, requires a separate quote and your approval.

Pesticide work must follow applicable law and product directions, including the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA), Minnesota Statutes Chapter 18B on pesticide control, and Chapter 18D on pesticide application. Minnesota Department of Agriculture structural pest control licensing requirements and EPA pesticide product labels also apply. Use and disposal directions depend on the product label and applicable guidance from the EPA, Minnesota Department of Agriculture, Minnesota Department of Health, Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, and, where relevant, Minnesota OSHA.

Setting, Changing, or Canceling a Visit

Appointments are arranged with you by phone, email, or another agreed method. Before the visit, we may ask you to confirm the service address, pest concerns, access instructions, and any preparation stated in your estimate or service agreement.

Please give notice as early as reasonably possible if you need to cancel or move an appointment. Any specific notice period or cancellation charge applies only if it was disclosed in your agreement or otherwise accepted by you.

Tell us before work begins if you want to add rooms, address another pest, or change the requested treatment. We will explain whether the request changes the price, schedule, preparation, or treatment plan and obtain your approval before performing added work.

A technician may need to pause or reschedule if the property is inaccessible, the conditions differ materially from those described, or safe treatment cannot be completed as planned. We will contact you to discuss available next steps.

Understanding Quotes and Charges

An estimate describes the work and price we expect for the conditions and service areas discussed with you. It is based on the information available at the time and may need revision if an inspection reveals different conditions or you request additional work.

We will explain any proposed change and obtain your approval before proceeding with work outside the agreed scope. No added service is authorized merely because a technician identifies a possible concern.

Your estimate or service agreement will state the applicable charges and payment timing. Unless that document says otherwise, payment is due as stated on the invoice for the work performed.

Please review the estimate and ask questions before accepting it; approval may be given through a signed document or another recorded method we offer. If you dispute a charge, contact us promptly with the service date and amount so we can review the account.

Taxes, if applicable, will be shown as required. No price, financing arrangement, or payment plan is promised unless provided to you in writing.

What to Expect About Service Coverage

Any workmanship warranty, retreatment commitment, or other service guarantee applies only if it is expressly stated in your written estimate or service agreement. That document should identify the covered pest or work, coverage period, and steps for requesting service. These terms do not create a warranty period or promise a particular pest outcome where none has been provided in writing.

Coverage may depend on following the preparation and access instructions in your agreement and keeping the treated areas available for any agreed follow-up. Conditions outside the described work, new pest activity, building defects, moisture, food sources, or changes to the property may require separate evaluation and may not be covered.

If you believe completed work does not match the agreed scope, contact us with the service date and details. We will review the agreement and explain any applicable remedy. Nothing in this section removes rights or remedies that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Responsibility for Property and Service Risks

Please tell us about known property conditions, sensitive areas, and access concerns before treatment. You are responsible for following preparation and reentry instructions provided for the service.

Minnesota Pest Solutions is not responsible for pre-existing damage, hidden conditions, or problems outside the agreed work, except where applicable law provides otherwise. To the extent permitted by law, any liability directly arising from a service will not exceed the amount paid for that service.

This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law, including liability that cannot legally be waived or limited.

Pesticide use is governed by FIFRA, Minnesota Statutes Chapters 18B and 18D, applicable Minnesota Department of Agriculture licensing requirements, and the product label’s directions and restrictions. We apply products according to applicable requirements; no treatment eliminates every risk or guarantees a particular result.

Do not dispose of pesticide products or containers contrary to label directions or applicable Minnesota and federal requirements. Contact us promptly if you have a concern about a service or possible property impact.

Questions About These Service Terms

Include your name, service address, and appointment or invoice details so we can direct your question to the right person. These terms apply alongside any written estimate or service agreement; if the documents differ, contact us to clarify the terms that apply before additional work is authorized.

We may update these terms from time to time. For existing appointments or services, we will communicate material changes through an appropriate written notice or updated service document.

A change will not alter work already completed or replace a specific written agreement unless you accept the change or applicable law permits it. The version provided with your current service documents is the one to review when considering that work.
